But a late injury scare for Fernandes and two ongoing issues in the squad have created fresh concerns for head coach Ruben Amorim.

Fernandes was seen clutching the back of his leg in the final moments of the match, raising fears of a muscle problem ahead of the clash against West Ham on Thursday. Amorim, however, quickly eased supporter concerns after the match.

The Brazilian forward missed the last two matches after picking up a knock during training at Carrington. Amorim confirmed the injury was “not serious”, and he expects Cunha to return against West Ham.

After nine months out with an ACL injury, Lisandro Martinez returned to the squad and featured briefly against Palace. His full availability is a major boost for the defensive unit.

Benjamin Sesko
Sesko has been recovering from a knee injury suffered before the international break. Amorim confirmed the striker needs “a little bit more time” before returning to action.

Harry Maguire
The defender remains sidelined after sustaining a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham. He has not yet returned to training, and the club has not provided a clear timeline for his recovery.
