WSL: Ella Toone's game by numbers as Man United Women beat Aston Villa Women 5-0

Ella Toone was outstanding as Manchester United Women outclassed Aston Villa Women at Old Trafford in the Women’s Super League.

Toone provided two assists as Man United beat Villa 5-0 to go to the top of the WSL table after eight games with 21 points.

The Red Devils continued from where they left off two weeks ago when they went against all odds to beat Arsenal Women 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

Katie Zelem and Leah Galton scored early in the game to hand Manchester United Women a comfortable 2-0 lead at half-time and Toone provided the assist to the latter’s goal.

Shortly after the break, Alessia Russo tripled Man United’s lead with a brilliant effort from inside the penalty box and Ella Toone provided the assist again.

Ona Batlle and Rachel Williams would score late in the game to complete what many described as a commanding display from Marc Skinner’s ladies.

The England international was one of the top performers at Old Trafford despite not inking her name on the scoreboard.
