Manchester United’s director of football John Murtough reportedly met with Benjamin Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic on Wednesday, according to reports.
Reports emerged this week that Man United are interested in signing Sesko from RB Salzburg as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has decided on leaving The Red Devils this summer for a club that will participate in next season’s Champions League.
According to the Manchester Evening News, John Murtough met with Elvis Basanovic, Sesko’s agent, in a bid to gauge the possibility of a transfer.
The Austrian club isn’t interested in selling their forward this summer at the moment and their English Twitter handle this week jokingly quoted Fabrizio Romano’s tweet of the speculation and said “Bruno + 300million” for Benjamin Sesko.
Romano this week tweeted: “Manchester United are well informed on Salzburg talent Benjamin Šeško. He’s one of the players monitored, considered ‘really talented’ – but it’s not imminent or advanced deal as of now. Man Utd are aware of Šeško as other clubs are informed too, including Newcastle.”
The 19-year-old Slovenian scored the only goal to help RB Salzburg beat Liverpool 1-0 in their pre-season this week.
