Manchester United enjoyed a hard earned three points against Southampton at Old Trafford to move to the 4th place in the Premier League.

Valery’s strike earned the visitors an early lead in the 26th minute and it took United 55 minutes to score their first goal of the game, thanks to Andreas Pereira’s stunner.

Some minutes later, Romelu Lukaku put United in front with a fine right footed strike in the 59th minute.

After the match, Lukaku, who had the chance to score his first hat-trick as a United player says he wanted Pogba to score the goal in order to keep the Frenchman’s amazing form on.

Lukaku told BBC: “We knew we had to win the game today and did it. Not our best game but we have to be happy. We created a lot of chances in the opening 10 minutes but won the game.

“I am a striker and I wanted Paul Pogba to score the penalty, he has been on a good run but he has been an important player for us.

Lukaku continued: “I was focussed on the win and help my team-mates. The manager gave me another chance today. We have to look one game at a time and are working hard on the training ground. We are ready for the challenge.”
