Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has raved about Everton ahead of his side’s trip to Goodison Park to face the Toffees in the Premier League.
Man United will look to bounce back to winning ways in the league, having lost 6-3 to Manchester City last weekend away from home.
United reacted to the defeat with a tight 3-2 win over Omonia in Cyprus on Thursday evening in the Europa League group stage, following a brace from Marcus Rashford and a goal from Anthony Martial.
Since they lost their opening two Premier League games to Chelsea and Aston Villa in August, Everton have gone unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions [3W 4D].
Frank Lampard’s side put out a top performance at home to hold Liverpool to a frustrating drab goalless draw in September and will try to repeat the same performance against Manchester United, who have won six of their last eight matches in all competitions [6W 2L].
Erik ten Hag has urged his Manchester United side to start the game well in order to be prepared against Lampard’s side, who won their last two league games against West Ham United at home and Southampton away from home.
Speaking ahead of the clash, the Dutchman said: “They [Everton] have good players, they have a good team, they have a good manager, so we have to be prepared. We have to be ready to start the game well and get the right result.”
The Red Devils will host Omonia at home on Thursday in the Europa League and will only think about doing the double over the Cyprus side, having won the reverse fixture 3-2.
