What David de Gea said about Brentford howlers after he requested to do interview

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has reacted to his horrible performance against Brentford on Saturday evening.

Man United suffered yet another setback after losing their second game of the season 4-0 to The Bees.

David de Gea made two howlers that gifted the home side two goals early in the game.

The Spain international, who confirmed he requested to do the interview with Sky Sports, admitted to his poor performance and claimed he was the reason the team lost today.

David de Gea told Sky Sports: “I cost three points to my team today and it was a poor performance from myself. It was a horrible day.

“We should react better. I should save the first shot and the result would be different — sometimes I maybe have to read the game better and go long.

“We are not like other teams. They concede first and winning 5-1, 6-1 — It was an easy save and I felt already it was going down, down, down — It was a poor performance.”

Manchester United’s next game is against Liverpool at Old Trafford next two Mondays.

United haven’t scored a single game in their opening two Premier League matches.
