"We will play tomorrow our best team," - Erik ten Hag warns Omonia and Everton

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has warned that he will start with his best team against Omonia in a bid to prepare against Everton.

Man United watched their four-match winning run come to an end on Sunday following a disappointing 6-3 away defeat to Manchester City.

The Red Devils started with the same lineup that had won four league games in a row against the Citizens, although Marcus Rashford wasn’t really fit for the clash.

Ten Hag has suggested that he will start with his best team against Omonia on Thursday night in the Europa League, which would likely be the same starting lineup as the Everton lineup this weekend.

And that is obviously going to be too much for the Cyprus side to handle, given the quality at the Dutchman’s disposal.

“We will play tomorrow our best team, we have to construct a team because we want a competitive culture,” said Ten Hag. “It had nothing to do with Casemiro, it had all to do with Scott [McTominay].

Casemiro [will] have an important role, we know his background, the titles he’s won, you see every day in training.”

The former Ajax manager left Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench against Manchester City and it’s more likely that the Portuguese star will start on Thursday night.

“He’s [Cristiano Ronaldo] not happy that he didn’t play Sunday, don’t get me wrong, but the question was about his mood in training, where he’s happy. Of course, he wants to play and he’s p***** off when he’s not playing,” said Erik ten Hag.

“Cristiano is really competitive, he is not happy when he is not playing, but I have to repeat, maybe you didn’t hear, he is training well, he is in a good mood, he is motivated and he gives his best and that is what we expect.”
