Victor Lindelof: AS Roma show interest in Manchester United defender

AS Roma have reportedly show interest in signing Victor Lindelof from Manchester United this summer, according to reports in Italy.

Lindelof’s playing time at Man United has obviously been threatened following the summer arrival of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.

The Sweden captain is expected to challenge the likes of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Martinez for a starting role at the back under Erik ten Hag.

His chances of becoming a regular are slim and as a result, the defender could be on his way out in a bid to get more playing time.

According to Forza Roma, Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing Victor Lindelof to AS Roma this summer, the same Serie A club that are reportedly interested in signing Eric Bailly.

The former Man United boss signed Lindelof from Benfica in 2017 and has already signed former Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic this summer as a free agent.

The 28-year-old may be linked with a summer move to Italy, but he is expected to start at the back alongside Harry Maguire against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday in Erik ten Hag’s first Premier League game.
