"Tired of watching this from Scott McTominay" - Man United fan makes Adrien Rabbiot demand

A Manchester United fan, who admits he has no idea if Adrien Rabiot is the answer in the midfield, is fed up with Scott McTominay following his disastrous performance against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Man United got humbled 2-1 on the opening day of the Premier League season by Brighton, following two first-half goals from Pascal Gross and a late own-goal from Mac Allister.

The defensive midfield role has been an issue for Manchester United in recent seasons but yet, the United owners have failed to solve that particular issue across three different managers in Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

Erik ten Hag is the latest United boss to go through the same problem and as a result, he was forced to start his first season as Manchester United boss with McTominay and Fred in the midfield, which eventually yielded to his first loss.

Both Fred and McTominay have endured widespread criticism from fans and football legends for their horrifying displays against The Seagulls.

United, who could miss out on Erik ten Hag‘s first choice midfield target in Frenkie de Jong, are now close to signing Adrien Rabiot from Juventus in a bid to improve their midfield options.

According to some stats between McTominay and Rabiot, it turns out that the Scotland international is better than the Frenchman but this scenario hasn’t put off many fans wanting a change in the midfield.

A fan posted footage from United’s loss against Brighton to reveal how Scott McTominay prevented what could have led to a decent chance for Manchester United and insisted that he wouldn’t mind having Rabiot at United if it means McTominay taking the back seat.

The handle tweeted: “I have no idea why Manchester United are signing Adrien Rabiot when there are players like Ruben Neves, but I’ll take anything to make me stop watching this..”

In the footage, McTominay had team-mates progressing forward he could have easily force the ball through but dallied on the ball, lost control of the situation, stamped on a Brighton star in a bid to recover possession and escaped with a yellow card.

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a transfer fee of about £15m that could rise to £20m with Juventus for Adrien Rabiot.

And fresh reports claim the deal could be completed in the next hours.
