"Time will tell" - Michael Carrick rates Erik ten Hag chances at Manchester United

Michael Carrick believes time will tell whether or not Erik ten Hag will succeed at Manchester United, although he hails the Dutchman as a ‘good’ coach.

Ten Hag got off to a nightmare start to life at Man United after he lost two winnable games 2-1 and 4-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford and Brentford at away respectively.

The Dutch tactician bounced back with a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford and has gone on to win Southampton 1-0 and Leicester City 1-0.

Manchester United are currently in the 5th position despite their slow start to the season and will face yet another huge test when they face Arsenal, Premier League leaders, on Sunday evening.

The former Man United caretaker hopes Ten Hag has a good season at the Theatre of Dreams and confirms that he is still a fan of his old club.

“He [Erik ten Hag] is a good coach, he did very well at Ajax and time will tell if he does well,” Michael Carrick told Eurosports via Daily Mirror. “It is not my opinion anymore, but I hope Manchester United have a good season, I really do. I know a lot of people there.

“I still go and support Man United and I hope they have a really good season and be successful.”
