Three Manchester United players will miss Nottingham Forest clash, Erik ten Hag confirmed

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that as many as three players including Jadon Sancho will not be in the squad for the Nottingham Forest game.

Man United are eager to bounce back to winning ways this week when they play visitors to Nottingham on Wednesday in the semi-final first leg of the Carabao Cup.

United succumbed to a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Arsenal away from home in the Premier League and now, they are determined to return to winning ways.

However, Ten Hag has confirmed that the Red Devils would dare this without three players due to injury issues and lack of fitness.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said: “All the players who were not available for Arsenal game, so Dalot, Martial, Sancho, are also not available for tomorrow.”

Sancho returned to training last week but wasn’t part of the squad that lost to Arsenal. Because he isn’t deemed fit enough for the Nottingham game, he’s set to miss the game.

In Anthony Martial’s absence, Wout Weghorst has started twice against Crystal Palace and Arsenal and he’s in contention to make his third start in a row since his winter arrival from Besiktas on loan.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has really done well at the right-back position and he’s expected to start again in Dalot’s absence due to an injury.

Donny van de Beek remains on the sidelines with a knee injury.
