Thomas Tuchel has claimed that PSG are facing a potential injury crisis ahead of next week’s clash against Manchester United in the Champions League.

Man United will take a trip to France on Tuesday night to face the Parisians at Parc des Princes and they could end up playing against a weakened PSG squad.

Before United’s clash, the French giants will take on Nimes at away on Friday night in the Ligue 1 and the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will hope to be fit in time for the clash after the pair’s involvements on Wednesday’s international duty.

United would face even more injury crisis as they had nine of their first team players in action on Wednesday night.

“We have to take responsibility for Neymar and Kylian [Mbappe], who played almost 90 minutes yesterday, and the South Americans who have travelled a lot,” Tuchel said at a press conference ahead of the meeting with Nimes.

“Maybe we will only have 11, 12 or 13 players available.”

But while superstars Neymar and Mbappe will likely be fit to play face Manchester United next week, of bigger concern to Tuchel is just having a strong enough team to put out on the field.

“We have a bit of bad luck. [Julian] Draxler and Marquinhos are doubtful for Manchester too,” he continued.

“Colin Dagba had a positive [ coronavirus test] with the under-21s. In the event of a negative test, he can return to the group.

“Thilo Kehrer is injured for a few weeks. [Juan] Bernat and [Mauro] Icardi are injured, Icardi, a week ago. It’s the internal ligament in the knee, it’s not too serious but he will miss Nimes and Manchester.

“Today we have Danilo [Pereira] back, but he has been in contact with Cristiano Ronaldo, so the medical staff wish he did not train with the group. [Marco] Verratti was injured with Italy, and is in contact with our doctor now.”

He added: “We are missing too many players. It is the challenge now to find a starting XI able to win [against Nimes], because that is the best preparation for Manchester.”

The last time both Man United and PSG met in the Champions League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tricky Reds got the better of the French top guns.

The Red Devils would go against every odd to beat PSG 3-1 in the return leg at Paris to overturn their 2-0 home defeat in the reverse fixture of the round of 16.

Following the win, Man United would become the first team in the Champions League history to achieve such a comeback win in the knockout stage.
