"They can play f**king good" — Erik ten Hag reacts to Manchester United in over Liverpool

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was pleased with his side’s performance against Liverpool, and explained how he got the better of the Reds.

Jadon Sancho scored early in the first half to hand Man United a tight 1-0 lead at half-time. Sancho has reacted to the game as well

Shortly after the interval, Marcus Rashford doubled Manchester United’s lead with a beautiful strike. Anthony Martial was instrumental in the build up to the goal.

Mo Salah pulled a goal back late in the game but that was the highest they could get — a consolation goal.

After the game, Erik ten Hag explained how his side performed against Jurgen Klopp’s side and revealed what was behind the team’s high spirit.

Erik ten Hag told Sky Sports: “We said we want to bring the right players in, the window is not closed and you see you need not only numbers but quality.

“Tactically, you see where you can have weapons in the game. You see we have speed then Fernandes and Eriksen have a pass. Scott McTominay had a magnificent game.

“I was happy with it [the performance], but you have to bring it every game. Not only one game… Every Premier League game is difficult, is heavy, so we have to bring it in every game.”
