"That's my job" - Casemiro explains what he offers at Manchester United

Casemiro has explained how he helps Manchester United as a defensive midfielder and reveals that he loves watching football matches as well.

Man United signed Casemiro from Real Madrid over the summer in a transfer fee that could advance up to €70million based on pitch performances.

The Brazil international made his first Premier League start against Everton last weekend and capped it off with an assist and a man of the match award as Manchester United extended their winning run to two games following a tight 2-1 win at Goodison Park.

Casemiro is obviously one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe and he has revealed that he doesn’t only bring balance in the midfield but also helps in building attack with quality passing, just as we witnessed him assist Cristiano Ronaldo in the first half against Everton last weekend.

Speaking ahead of what could be his third fourth ever Europa League appearance on Thursday night when Manchester United host Omonia, he said: “Everyone knows my job. My role is defensive: to help my teammates and get the ball out with quality. That’s my job.

“I defend above all and I bring balance to the team. I help my teammates in the defensive work, I get the ball out, that’s my job. Of course, a goal here or there, it is good, but doing my job and defending well comes first.”

Casemiro once again confirms that football is his passion and his sould. He would go on to admit playing football is also a key to his success.

“I watch a lot of football. I love it. My wife is a bit bored because there is only football at home,” the 30-year-old added. “Football is my passion, it’s my soul and I believe it’s “is the key to my success. I love football. I love watching football.”

Manchester United will host Omonia at Old Trafford on Thursday night in the Europa League. Three days later, United will host Newcastle United and Casemiro is increasingly likely to start in the midfield, given he’s injury free after the Cypriot side’s test tonight.
