Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is set to start at the back for France against Denmark on Saturday in the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup.
Varane suffered a muscle injury during the game against Chelsea in October and as a result, he was a doubt for the World Cup.
However, following several medical examinations, the former Real Madrid defender was told he would recover in time before France’s opener against Australia, and exactly that happened.
Varane was left on the bench as France beat Australia 4-1 earlier this week but reports in France are suggesting that the Manchester United defender is in line to start at the back when Les Bleus take on Denmark this weekend.
According to L’Equipe, Raphael Varane is set to start for France against Denmark on Saturday at the expense of Liverpool defender, Konate.

Konate played 90 minutes against Australia but he’s likely to watch the Denmark game over Didier Deschamps’ shoulders.
Varane could come up against his Manchester United team-mate Christian Eriksen when both countries meet on Saturday.
The last time both countries met each other, Denmark won the tie 2-0 in Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.
