PSV reveal price tag for Cody Gakpo, Manchester United transfer target

PSV have reportedly informed Manchester United and other teams interested in Cody Gakpo that they will have to meet their £35m demands, according to reports.

Man United are reported as one of the teams interested in signing Gakpo from PSV this summer in a bid to improve their attacking line.

Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on leaving Manchester United this summer in a bid to join a Champions League club. Anthony Martial isn’t consistent and missed last weekend’s opener against Brighton and Hove Albion through a minor hamstring injury. Also, Man United are short of quality options at wide areas and an injury to either Marcus Rashford or Jadon Sancho would force United boss Erik ten Hag to work with inexperienced forwards Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga.

United are also keen on Antony of Ajax but the Dutch club are unwilling to let their forward go and made a statement on that by placing as much as £100million on his head. Manchester United are said to have cooled their interest in the Brazilian and are looking for cheaper alternatives.

According to ESPN, Man United are interested in signing Cody Gakpo from PSV but the Dutch club have reportedly warned that they wouldn’t let him go unless their £35m demand was reached.

The 23-year-old forward made 27 Eredivisie appearances last season and scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists. He also notched in 2 goals in 6 Champions League appearances.

Some fans claimed that Cody Gakpo is twice the player Antony is and worth half the price for the Ajax forward.
