PSG ace Kylian Mbappe had Marcus Rashford on his transfer wishlist

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe reportedly included Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford after sorting his future out over the summer.

Mbappe was strongly linked with a summer move to Real Madrid but after lengthy talks with PSG, the France international decided to stay put.

A lot was said concerning how PSG convinced Kylian Mbappe against making his dream move to Real Madrid, with many outlets claiming that the Frenchman, after his new contract, now has a say on transfer activities.

According to Daily Mirror, the former Monaco forward included Marcus Rashford on his transfer wishlist after he has sorted out his future with PSG over the summer.

Rashford made transfer headlines in August when reports emerged that PSG are keen on signing the England international from Manchester United, thanks to his ability to perform in any position across the front line.

Some outlets in France claimed that talks between Rashford’s camp and the Ligue 1 giants were advancing positively, hence causing unrest among Manchester United fans.

Rashford was reportedly keen on making the switch to Parc des Princes in what would have been a new challenge for the 24-year-old.

The Red Devils reacted quickly by distancing themselves from whatever talks that would’ve seen Rashford, who has a year left on his current deal, walk out of Old Trafford, given Erik ten Hag’s huge admiration of the England international.

The former Ajax manager had to warn PSG and other suitors that Rashford, who was lacking consistency at the time, is vital in his squad.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Brentford, Ten Hag told MUTV: “He’s [Marcus Rashford] really important, you have seen from the first day I’m here, I’m really happy with him, I don’t want to lose him, he’s definitely in our plans at Manchester United.”

Marcus Rashford won the Premier League Player of the Month award for September after scoring two goals and two assists in two league matches.

The United academy graduate returns from an injury that kept him out of Man United’s last two games against Real Sociedad and Sheriff Tiraspol and cost him his England’s call-up but he’s in contention to feature against Manchester City this weekend in the league.
