Manchester United will host Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Sunday in the Premier League and below are our predicted starting lineup.
Man United will head into the game coming off the back of a tight 1-0 win over Omonia Nicosia on Thursday night in the Europa League, thanks to an injury-time goal from second-half substitute Scott McTominay.
The Red Devils will be without their latest goalscorer in their squad against Newcastle due to a suspension. McTominay received his fifth booking of the season during his late cameo against Everton last weekend.
Although the Scotland international has been decent for Manchester United in recent games, Erik ten Hag obviously can cope without his services, given his starting lineups in the last three matches.
The Dutchman had started with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen as double pivot in the last three games and the former provided the assist to United’s match-winning goal at Everton.
Erik ten Hag could be without Anthony Martial this weekend after the France star came off injured early in the game against the Toffees. This could yet present another chance to Cristiano Ronaldo to lead Manchester United‘s attack.
Jadon Sancho came on in the second half against Omonia and played a huge role in Scott McTominay’s last minute match-winning goal. Regardless of his instant impact, the former Borussia Dortmund winger looked sharp upon his cameo.
Newcastle United will want to attack at Old Trafford to maintain their momentum, having won their last two league matches by massive margins.
The Dutchman MAY decide to rest Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench to bring Jadon Sancho back into the team. Should this be the case, Marcus Rashford could lead the attack, while Sancho and Antony attack from the flanks.
