Paul Scholes takes dig at Marcus Rashford with Francis Uzoho claim

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes doesn’t think Francis Uzoho was great as he believes Marcus Rashford didn’t correctly execute his strikes.

Rashford was by far Man United’s best player in the first half. The England international had three strikes on goal before the first half whistle but Francis Uzoho kept them all out.

The Omonia goalie would go on to deny Manchester United some more from scoring and has been receiving several plaudits from fans across social media.

Paul Scholes doesn’t think Uzoho made any spectacular save in the game as he believes United’s finishing was poor, although he pointed out that Uzoho’s block against Casemiro’s strike was way better than the rest of his blocks.

Speaking after the final whistle, Scholes said: “I don’t think he made saves that were unbelievable. Possibly one from Casemiro where he touches it onto the bar. Other than that it was a mixture of poor finishing as well.

“He saved everything he should have saved. He is a goalkeeper don’t forget.”

Francis Uzoho was pleased with his performance, although his individual brilliance wasn’t good enough to secure something off the Red Devils.

The Nigerian international also claimed that he’s a big Manchester United fan and dreamt of playing at Old Trafford.

“It’s not a easy stadium to play in with these big players. I’m happy in general,” Uzoho said after the final whistle.

“I am a big Manchester United fan yeah. i have dreamed to play here for a long time. When I saw the draw I wanted to play. I prayed to God to get a opportunity to play and I got it, I’m happy I played here.”

Scott McTominay came off the bench and scored the match-winning goal after Francis Uzoho had stopped the likes of Rashford, Fernandes and Ronaldo.
