Patrice Evra offers 'very good' Donny van de Beek advice amid poor form

Patrice Evra has advised Donny van de Beek to leave Manchester United because he doesn’t get enough ‘respect’ in England and isn’t capable to handle the pressure at the club.

Van de Beek made his first start under Erik ten Hag in a crucial Europa League game against Real Sociedad and fell short as Man United managed a tight 1-0 win.

Despite his horror display in Spain, Ten Hag handed Van de Beek a rare Premier League start against Aston Villa in the absence of Bruno Fernandes due to suspension but the former Ajax midfielder would go on and put up a dreadful performance, hence putting the majority of the United fans on edge.

Several Manchester United fans didn’t hold back in their scatching assessments of the 25-year-old midfielder across social media, with many labelling him as a ‘liability’ in Ten Hag’s squad.

Evra has suggested that the midfielder doesn’t get the sufficient respect required to thrive at Old Trafford and has urged him to leave Man United and join a club where he would feel loved.

“My advice to him [Donny van de Beek] is that he needs to go somewhere where he feels loved,” Evra said. “The problem in England, not just Manchester, is that people don’t respect him. He’s a very good player.

“He’s losing his time. He’s getting injured, he’s not playing enough and when he plays all the pressure is on him. I don’t think he can deal well with the pressure. Go to where you feel loved is my advice.”

Manchester United will host Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Thursday in the Carabao Cup third round and many fans are anticipating a team without Van de Beek in it.
