Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hints Harry Maguire could miss Newcastle tie with a knock

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that Harry Maguire could miss tomorrow’s clash against Newcastle United with a knock.

The Man United defender was slated in the midweek following his dreadful performance for England against Denmark on Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old defender summed up his terrible show after receiving two yellow cards midway through the first half against the Danes in the UEFA Nations League.

Maguire has been subjected to several criticisms this season for his poor performances for both club and country and Rio Ferdinand has even urged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to drop the Man United skipper out of the firing line.

The former Man United skipper’s wish could be granted after Solskjaer claimed, during his pre-Newcastle United conference, that the ex-Leicester City man got a knock before his red card.

“Harry [Maguire] seemed to pick up a little knock just before he got sent off [against Denmark],” Solskjaer told MUTV. “So we’re having a look at him today to see how he is.

“You never know [how players are injury wise] until they get back and we have a look at them. I think, and we hope, everyone has come through okay. Of course, Alex [Telles] has travelled all around the world. He flew overnight and got here on Thursday.”
