Manchester United start transfer contacts with €20m-rated Real Betis midfielder

Manchester United have reportedly begun contacts with Real Betis over a potential move for Guido Rodríguez, according to reports in Spain.

Man United are in great need of a defensive midfielder following yet another horrendous displays from Fred and Scott McTominay against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday in the Premier League, who both think they are good enough to start for Manchester United.

Adrien Rabiot has been linked with a move to United in recent days and several sources are describing the deal as ‘really close’ after MEN reported earlier today that Man United and Juventus have agreed a transfer deal around about £15million that could rise £20million.

While there are positive news on the Juventus midfielder, reports in Spain have claimed that The Red Devils have already turned their eyes elsewhere in a bid to change the entire look on United’s defensive midfield.

According to Mirko Calemme, Manchester United have begun talks with Real Betis in a bid to sign their defensive midfielder Guido Rodríguez.

The journalist, who is followed by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, claimed that United could get the Argentine for a transfer fee worth about €20m.

He also reported that the midfielder’s move to Old Trafford could depend on Adrien Rabiot‘s move to the Theatre of Dreams. Which means United are only looking at signing either Rabiot or Rodriguez but maintains that the former is in the pole position to join The Red Devils.

The 28-year-old midfielder made 32 La Liga appearances last season and provided two assists and scored one goal, while registering 8 yellow cards.
