England manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has suffered a knock while in training today.
Sancho was one of the Man United stars, who left to represent their respective countries for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Jesse Lingard were also among the Man United players to be part of Southgate’s England World Cup Qualifiers squad.
Speaking ahead of England‘s clash against Hungary on Friday, Southgate described Jadon Sancho’s situation as a ‘small knock’ but confirmed that the Manchester United forward’s condition is being looked into.
Southgate provides injury update on Jadon Sancho
“We’ve got a small knock with Jadon [Sancho] this morning, so we’re going to assess him.
“Everyone else is fine.”
The England manager also confirmed the likes of Shaw, Maguire, and Lingard were injury-free.
Sancho started for Manchester United against Wolves last weekend in the Premier League but put out a sceptical performance against the Wanderers.
The 21-year-old, who represented England at Euro 2020, joined United from Borussia Dortmund for a reported £73million.
By the time he returns back to Old Trafford, he would meet his new teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined the club from Juventus last week.
