Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has dropped hints that he would be fit to face Wolverhampton this weekend in the FA Cup quarter final.
The former Chelsea star limped out of action with a hamstring injury in the first half during Man United’s goalless draw against Liverpool.
Since then, the Spaniard hasn’t made an appearance for the Red Devils – missing United’s 2-0 loss at Arsenal and a notable 3-1 win at PSG.
He was followed up by Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez in the injury list.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had to call-up the likes of Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood into United’s first team squad in recent weeks to solve their injury crisis.
Last week, Anthony Martial and Nemanja Matic returned to action to ease Solskjaer’s worries.
And now Mata has appeared to confirm he’s on the way back to feature against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday after returning to training last Friday.
‘It is has been another different week, without being able to play, but there are reasons to be optimistic,’ Mata wrote in his blog.
‘On Friday I was able to put in some work out on a pitch again, and my recovery is progressing as hoped. Hopefully I can rejoin the team soon.’
Jesse Lingard, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata were seen training with his teammates ahead of ttheir clash against Wolves.
