Manchester United could be without a number of senior players when they face Aston Villa on Sunday in the Premier League.
In the provisional squad released today, the likes of Antony, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and a few others weren’t part of the squad for the Villa trip.
However, this doesn’t mean the mentioned names above are entirely ruled out of the Aston Villa clash and also doesn’t mean they all will make the squad.
Antony has missed United’s last two games after he came off at the break against Sheriff Tiraspol last week. He wasn’t in any of the training photos Manchester United had released this week, hence making him a doubt for the trip.
Martial returned to training this week but wasn’t part of the squad that beat Real Sociedad 1-0 in Spain on Thursday. He could or not join up with the team to Aston Villa today.
Sancho has missed United’s recent games against West Ham United and Real Sociedad due to illness and wasn’t in any of the training photos released by Man United this week.

This was the squad Erik ten Hag travelled to Spain with to face Real Sociedad on Thursday. Bruno Fernandes wasn’t included because he’s ruled out of the game with a suspension, having received his fifth booking against West Ham last weekend.
Raphael Varane is ruled out of the game with a muscle injury and won’t be part of the Manchester United squad until after the World Cup in Qatar.
