Manchester United are looking to complete the signings of Christian Eriksen and Frenkie de Jong before they prioritise the signing of a centre-forward, according to reports.
Man United and Eriksen have reached an agreement and the midfielder is expected to be announced once his three-year contract with The Red Devils has been analysed by lawyers.
Manchester United are yet to reach an agreement with Barcelona over the signing of Frenkie de Jong, who is now attracting interest from Chelsea.
Barca are claiming they are doing everything they can to stop the Dutchman from leaving the club this summer but their steps to making this a reality screams the opposite. De Jong will have to accept a massive salary cut if he decides to remain at Nou Camp, which is something the former Ajax midfielder isn’t looking forward to, knowing that a move away from Barcelona would see his current wages increase significantly.
United have completed the signing of Tyrell Malacia, a left-back from Feyenoord and are now likely to sign Lisandro Martinez from Ajax after it was reported that The Red Devils have offered an improved bid of around £42m plus add-ons for the defender, though the Dutch club, at the moment, haven’t provided any response to that.
The report also claimed that United are looking to sign a right-back as well as a centre-back, who is likely to be Martinez.
Cristiano Ronaldo is looking increasingly likely to leave the club this summer, amid recent reports. The Portuguese star is poised on missing Manchester United’s trip to Bangkok on Friday for their pre-season tour due to family issues.
