Manchester United identify Kylian Mbappe as Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement

Manchester United are reportedly going to try and sign Kylian Mbappe as a direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.

Man United are keen on parting ways with Ronaldo after the five-time Ballon d’Or winner made some strong allegations about the club during an interview with Piers Morgan.

The Portuguese star accused Manchester United of not making any notable changes in the gym and other areas within the club and said United are are a marketing club to the Glazers.

Ronaldo’s interview didn’t come down too well among the chiefs at the club and as a result, the Red Devils are keen on cutting ties with the former Real Madrid and Juventus forward when the transfer window reopens in January.

His departure would force Manchester United into signing his replacement and according to the Mirror, United have identified Kylian Mbappe as the ideal signing.

The report claims that Kylian Mbappé has emerged as a potential target to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford, with the Manchester club possessing the financial might to pay the £150m+ transfer fee.

The report further claims that United are one of the few clubs in Europe able to match Kylian Mbappé‘s £500,000-a-week, the same wages as Cristiano Ronaldo, along with significant performance-related add-ons.

According to the Mirror’s journalist, David McDonnell, Victor Osimhen is on United‘s radar and is a more attainable January target than Kylian Mbappé.

The journalist also confirmed that Mbappé would be the dream signing for United.

United are also linked with PSV forward Cody Gakpo but nothing is official at the moment and it’s likely the Reds will reignite their interest in the Dutchman in January.

Manchester United will have only Anthony Martial, who has struggled with injury this season, as their natural striker, if Ronaldo moves on.
