Manchester United defender expected to seal loan move in January, reports in Turkey claim

Victor Lindelof is expected to leave Manchester United when the transfer market reopens in January and Galatasaray are linked with a move for his signature, according to reports in Turkey.

The Sweden skipper missed Man United’s opening three games with an injury but since his return to the team, the former Benfica defender has only started one game and it ended in a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad.

Lindelof, who has started loads of games in recent seasons, has seemingly lost his starting role at the back this season as Erik ten Hag now prefers a pairing of Raphael Varane and new signing Lisandro Martinez.

Both Varane and Martinez have started together five times and won all games in all competitions including wins over Liverpool and Arsenal.

The situation is unlikely to change just yet, thanks to Varane and Martinez solid pairing. As a result, the Sweden international has been linked with moves away from the club in a bid to search for more playing time.

According to A Spor, Victor Lindelof is expected to leave Manchester United. Turkey giants Galatasaray reportedly want to sign him on loan when the transfer window reopens in January.

Victor Lindelof Galatasaray Manchester United

Eric Bailly left Manchester United for Marseille on a loan deal last summer but could end up sealing a permanent move at the end of the season.

Ten Hag could prevent Lindelof from leaving in January unless the club sign his replacement as the Dutchman wouldn’t want to gamble of having Harry Maguire as his only available option at centre-back.

Should Lindelof eventually move to Galatasaray, he would reunite with his former team-mate, Juan Mata, who left the Red Devils as a free agent last summer.
