Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has been ruled out of Southampton clash at Old Trafford due to late recovery.
The France international was supposed to feature against the Saints today but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not ready to risk the former Monaco forward due to PSG clash on Wednesday.
Martial sustained a groin injury against the French giants last month in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 and has already missed three matches in the process of his recovery.
Ahead of Southampton clash at the Theatre of Dreams, Solskjaer revealed that Marcus Rashford, who started against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night from the bench, will start against the Saints while Martial is not fully fit for the action.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “It’s the last session today but we’re not going take any risks. Maybe Anthony, but it might just be a few more days before he’s ready, so probably the squad will look similar to what it did at Wednesday.
“He (Rashford) still felt it Wednesday night but he’ll be ready, I’ll probably start him.”
“You do have a plan but then you get suspensions, injuries,” Solskjaer said of his possible weekend selections.
Manchester United players arrive at the Lowry Hotel on Friday night ahead of the clash against Southampton and Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial were not included spotted with their teammates.
