Luke Shaw pinpoints moment Manchester United lost the game vs Aston Villa

Luke Shaw has revealed the moment Manchester United lost the Premier League game to Aston Villa at the Villa Park.

Man United succumbed to a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday evening following two early goals in the first half and an early goal after the interval.

Those where the moments Luke Shaw thought Manchester United lost the game to the Villas after he claimed the arrival of new boss Unai Emery would give them that extra push to press United early in the game.

Speaking after the defeat, Shaw told Shamoon Hafez, via BBC: “We lost the game in the first 20 minutes of each half, we knew they were going to come out, new manager and the crowd would be behind them.”

The England international agreed that Manchester United‘s performance was nowhere good enough as their slow start to the game played a huge role in the defeat.

He added: “In games like this, if you start slowly then we will lose the game. We weren’t good enough.”

Despite being two goals down eleven minutes into the game, Luke Shaw thought Manchester United could still win the game but accepted that the game was done after Villa scored their third goal shortly after the interval.

“We always going to believe we can win the game, even at 2-0 down,” said Shaw. “We spoke about starting well in the second half but conceded again, then it’s a mountain to climb and the game is done.

“We started sloppy, gave the ball away too easily, that is not good enough. We suffered today, we did not deserve to win.
