Barcelona ace Lionel Messi has been ruled out of Argentina clash against Morocco with a groin injury.
The forward took part in every minute during their 3-1 loss to Venezuela on Friday but it appears afterwards that the five-time Balloon d’Or winner sustained an injury.
The strain has stopped him from taking part in Argentina’s next friendly match on Tuesday but the injury is not as serious as it was initially thought.
According to Marca, Messi is expected to be available for Barcelona’s next match, when they host Espanyol in the La Liga on 30 March.
Barca are top of the table with a 10-point lead, but have a big April ahead of them as they take on Atletico Madrid in the La Liga and then travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-final.
Prior to Messi’s current injury update, the 31-year-old forward is expected to be available for selection in any of Barca’s fixtures.
