Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford and Jadon Sancho played a huge role in that.
Man United broke the deadlock early in the game when Sancho scored from inside the penalty box, Anthony Elanga provided the assist though.
The England international admitted that he didn’t know how much tome he had inside the penalty box before unleashing a strike but said that after he floored James Milner, he knew he had more time to decide where to strike the ball.
Speaking after the hard-fought win, Sancho said of his goal: “I didn’t realise how much time I had, but once I dropped the defender I needed the composure to finish.”
Sancho admitted that the win means a lot to the team, given how poorly they started the season.
He told Sky Sports: “It [the win] means a lot. Our first two games didn’t go so well and had it turn it around today.
“It means a lot to all of us, you can see how the fans are reacting. We got the three points but on to the next one. We just have to produce like today in every single game. Happy we got the three points and we move on.”
Reflecting on United’s disappointing 4-0 loss to Brentford, Sancho said: “Last week hurt a lot and we knew we had to bounce back and tonight we showed the fans what we can do.”
