Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho said it’s ‘unfortunate’ for him not to receive a call-up to join up with the England latest squad.
Sancho has been on a decent form this season and has scored twice so far, including his goal against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League this evening.
The Manchester United winger has made his return to the England national team as one of his targets this season but maintains that he will continue to focus on himself on improving his game.
“Yeah, 100%, that [making the England squad] is one of the targets,” Sancho told MUTV.
“It’s unfortunate that I didn’t get the call-up, but I have to just keep focussing on myself and keep on working hard, week in and week out, that’s what I’ll do.”
"He asked me to wear the shin pads and I said, no problem!"
"It's disappointing not to get the call up, hopefully I do for the World Cup"

Like Sancho, Marcus Rashford was also not called up but the latter earlier revealed that his injury was behind the reason he wasn’t called up by Gareth Southgate.
