Several Manchester United players including Cristiano Ronaldo were in action for their respective countries tonight in the UEFA Nations League.
Czech Republic 0-4 Portugal
Manchester United trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot played every minute of the game against the Czech Republic.
Dalot scored a brace, Fernandes scored a goal and Ronaldo provided an assist late on in the game after his header fell nicely onto Diogo Jota’d path.
Diogo Dalot scored his first international goal in the first half and extended Portugal’s lead with a superb strike shortly after the interval. Fernandes was brilliant throughout the game. Ronaldo was decent, although he didn’t have too many chances in the game.
Portugal will face Spain next in what is said to be the last group stage game. Ronaldo’s country sit at the top of their group with 10 points.
Scotland 2-1 Ireland
Scott McTominay played 90 minutes as Scotland came from a goal down to beat Ireland 2-1.
McTominay received a yellow card in the 86th minute, although his performance in the midfield was superb.
Serbia 4-1 Sweden
Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof captained his side as Sweden succumbed to rather an embarrassing defeat.
Anthony Elanga came on in the 64th minute but couldn’t make an impact.
In the early hours of Saturday, Lisandro Martínez helped Argentina beat Honduras 3-0 in a friendly game.
Martinez was brilliant in the game and capped his performance off with a well-deserved clean sheet.
So far, Manchester United have not recorded any injury issue.
