Huge blow! Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo ruled out of Crystal Palace tie

Manchester United will face Crystal Palace without their top goalscorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, in the squad due to an injury, which to Ralf Rangnick, it’s a huge blow, given the situation United are currently in.

Man United will confirm whether or not they will be in the Europa League next season when they play visitors to Palace on Sunday in the Premier League.

United will need to beat The Eagles at Selhurst Park to ensure their qualification to the UEL, regardless of the result of West Ham United at Brighton and Hove Albion.

And The Red Devils are poised to play this crucial game against Crystal Palace without Ronaldo, who is their leading goalscorer, due to a hip flexor injury.

The Portuguese icon has missed a few games this season as a result of this issue. He was a notable absentee during United’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester City at Etihad earlier this year.

Manchester United will now hope for the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to be fully fit for the clash, after both forwards missed United’s previous game and reported to training this week.

Ralf Rangnick confirmed on Friday that Sancho was a doubt for the trip and said United will have to exercise patience before deciding whether or not he will be part of the travelling squad.

“In the session today we had one or two players leaving the training session a little earlier, they just couldn’t finish the session because they had problems — that was Jadon [Sancho] and Phil Jones. We need to wait until after the session tomorrow,” Rangnick said.

Ronaldo has scored 24 goals in all competitions this season.
