Harry Maguire appears to have upset some Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo fans with his Instagram activity.

Reports emerged this month that Ronaldo has told Man United to consider selling him this summer if they receive the right bid.

Several outlets confirmed that Ronaldo’s desire to quit United this summer is down to Manchester United missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League and poor transfer activity.

Early this week, MEN journalist, Samuel Luckhurst reported that Ronaldo is also ‘upset’ with United’s 25% wage cut after United failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

It was also reported that Ronaldo, who is expected to see his £480,000-a-week wage reduced to £360,000-a-week if he remains at United, also views the salary cut as one of the factors behind his summer exit plan.

Sportbible posted the news on their Instagram handle and Harry Maguire, who’s currently Manchester United captain as Erik ten Hag hasn’t confirmed who would be his new skipper for next season, liked the post and some Ronaldo and Manchester United fans weren’t pleased with the England international.

One said: “After playing against Ronaldo and United for 38 matchdays, this is Harry Maguire playing against Ronaldo one last time.

The other tweeted: “Harry Maguire liking posts like these is what u call an unprofessional behaviour..he is no way fit to be Manchester United’s captain!”

Ronaldo has missed United’s pre-season training for the third time in a row. The former Juventus forward said his family issues is behind his absence from the United pre-season. His agent remains talking with other clubs over a move for Ronaldo.

Should the Portugal skipper eventually leave United this summer, he would repeat the same transfer move he did on Juventus last year.
