Fulham vs Manchester United: Prediction, predicted starting lineup, team news

Manchester United will play visitors to Fulham on Sunday in the Premier League and below are our predicted starting lineup, prediction, and team news.

Man United will look to bounce back to winning ways in the league against Fulham after they succumbed to a disappointing 3-1 to Aston Villa last weekend.

The Red Devils, who beat Villa 4-2 at Old Trafford on Thursday in the Carabao Cup third round, head into the game as favourites but could be without a number of senior players due to injury issues and illness.

Erik ten Hag issued the latest on the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony, Brandon Williams and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo missed the 4-2 win over Aston Villa on Thursday night in the Carabao Cup due to illness and Ten Hag isn’t certain the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will be available for the weekend.

He also confirmed that Brandon Williams will return to training next week after recovering from a ‘bad’ injury.

Speaking on Sancho’s health, Ten Hag continued: “He [Jadon Sancho] has had some really good performances and was going in a good direction, but the last weeks he struggled with illness.

“Then it’s normal that you don’t get the nomination for it [the World Cup]. Every manager will take only fit players to the World Cup.”

On Ronaldo’s fitness, Ten Hag added: “I can’t guarantee that [Cristiano will be available vs Fulham] now, but today [yesterday] he was ill.

“He can recover, it’s not really a serious illness that takes days or weeks, so I think it’s possible that he is available for Sunday and he will be in the squad.”

On Antony, the former Ajax manager added: “We will work on that, but I can’t confirm that he will be in the squad for Sunday. But, he [Antony] made progress in the last days and we will see tomorrow, Saturday, if he will be available for the team on Sunday.”

Diogo Dalot will miss the game through suspension. Raphael Varane remains out injured but will feature for France in the World Cup.
