Williams Gallas has reportedly advised Chelsea against signing Frenkie de Jong, who is also a Manchester United transfer target, according to reports.
Man United have since agreed a transfer fee with Barcelona over the signing of De Jong this summer but the deal has dallied due to deferred wages he’s being owed by Barca.
Several reports also claimed that the midfielder doesn’t want a move to Old Trafford because he only wants to depart Barcelona for a club that would partake in this season’s Champions League.
As a result, Chelsea joined the transfer race and many reports are claiming the former Ajax midfielder is more likely to join The Blues than Manchester United, despite many legit reports claiming Frenkie de Jong is Erik ten Hag’s top priority, because the London side are partaking in this season’s UCL, having finished 3rd in the Premier League last season.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, former Chelsea and Arsenal player William Gallas has urged Thomas Tuchel’s side not to sign the midfielder because he’s not the type of player they need plus “they already have players like him”.
Manchester United are currently looking at other alternatives to Frenkie de Jong and are reportedly close to signing Adrien Rabiot from Juventus.
United transfer chiefs travelled to Italy this week to discuss personal terms with the midfielder’s agent, who is also his mother. Man United and Juventus have already agreed on transfer fee around about €15million.
