Erik ten Hag's response when asked if Manchester United squad can win trophies

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was asked if his current squad can win trophies this season after Everton win and he was positive in his reply.

Man United’s convincing win over Everton becomes their eighth home win in a row and Marcus Rashford’s fifth goal in five matches since the restart of club action.

United are currently in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup and moved to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Everton.

Manchester United are nine points adrift of Premier League leaders, Arsenal after 17 matches and are in the round of 32 in the Europa League.

There’s a chance Man United could win a trophy this season and when asked if his current squad can do it, Ten Hag said: “I think we will have that, we can fight and fight back if necessary.

“We can act and stay composed so we have resilience. We have good skills in the team to win games and win prizes.

“I know Manchester United are always aiming for trophies and we are going for that. We cannot force this and have to focus on the next game, not focus on trophies, that is far away. We have to work on the team and development.”

Manchester United can proceed to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup when they welcome Charlton Athletic next week.
