Manchester United assistant manager Marcel van der Kraan has revealed that Erik ten Hag wants both Christian Eriksen and Frenkie de Jong at Old Trafford.
Man United are obviously going to sign at least two midfielders in the summer, following the departures of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
United have shown strong interest in De Jong but Barcelona are refusing to slash their €80m asking price for the Netherlands international.
Both Ten Hag and De Jong worked together at Ajax and Van der Kraan believes the Dutch tactician wants the former Ajax midfielder at United because the 25-year-old breathes the kind of attack he would love to implement at Old Trafford.
Christian Eriksen is also a top target for Manchester United and reports are suggesting that The Red Devils have made their first offer to sign the free agent.
“Erik ten Hag has made it so clear to the Manchester United board that he wants both Frenkie de Jong and Christian Eriksen,” Van der Kraan told Sky Sports. “If they don’t get those two players, it would be a breakdown of his ID and his model and his style at United.
“Erik ten Hag doesn’t want any other players apart from those two first. Ten Hag says he’s seen the style of Barcelona and Ajax – if you want to play a certain attacking style, then you need Frenkie.
“With Christian Eriksen, at the beginning of this year, he’s come back from his heart shock. Erik ten Hag was able to witness with his own eyes the fitness of Eriksen again and those performances for Brentford really convinced him.”

Manchester United are also looking at the possibilities of signing a centre-forward and a right-back this summer.
