Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has admitted that he hopes to have Antony in his squad in time for their game against Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.
Man United announced this week that they have reached an agreement with Ajax over the signing of Antony in a transfer fee that could rise to €100million.
The Brazilian has completed his medical but hasn’t finished the bits of the transfer, hence his inability to feature on Thursday against Leicester City.
Erik ten Hag hopes the former Ajax winger would complete his transfer this week and become available for their cracker against Arsenal on Sunday.
“I hope [Antony is available for the weekend],” Erik ten Hag said ahead of the Leicester game on Thursday when asked if Antony would feature against Arsenal. “It has be done then, because the window is closed.
“There is an agreement between the clubs but the paperwork is not done, so I cannot go deep. We still need to strengthen the offensive department because we have many games to cover.”
The Dutchman also confirmed that the signing of Antony and Dubravka are the final incomings for Manchester United this summer.
“I think for this window [Antony and Martin Dúbravka] would be the end, but when there is great opportunity you always have to be alert at this top club,” said Ten Hag.
