Anthony Martial is a doubt for the Newcastle United clash but Erik ten Hag believes Manchester United will look to do the job with or without him in the squad.
Man United will host Newcastle at Old Trafford in a few hours time in the Premier League and that would be their first home game since the 3-1 win over Arsenal last month.
Martial came off injured in the first half against Everton with a lower back injury and in the wake of that, the France star missed Manchester United‘s tight 1-0 win over Omonia at home on Thursday in the Europa League.
The France international is racing against time to be fit for the game against in form Newcastle United, who have won their last two league games 4-1 and 5-1 over Fulham and Brentford respectively, but Ten Hag has other plans for either way Martial’s fitness result comes out.
The Dutchman told MUTV: “Of course, we hope he [Anthony Martial] will be available but if not, we do it with other players because it’s always about the players who are available and we have a good squad, as you see, and also subs can make a difference.
“If he is not available, then we have to do it with other players. We will have 20 in the squad and they have to win this game.”
Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to start for the Red Devils against the Magpies but Erik ten Hag could also decide to start Marcus Rashford upfront alongside Jadon Sancho and Antony at flanks.
