Erik ten Hag reacts to Man United vs Liverpool tie, confirms Harry Maguire as captain

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has claimed that it’s always ‘exciting’ to play against Liverpool, and confirms Harry Maguire as his captain.

Man United started their pre-season on June 27 but will get a proper chance to put all they have learned from Ten Hag on the pitch when they come up against Liverpool tomorrow afternoon.

Though the clash against Jurgen Klopp’s side that finished 2nd in the Premier League and as FA Cup and Carabao Cup winners last season, the former Ajax boss believes it’s in United’s nature to win every game.

Speaking ahead of the clash, the Dutchman said in Thailand: “Yes, playing against Liverpool is always exciting. Manchester United vs Liverpool is a big game and it’s a really good test for us.”

“The standard of Man United is to win every game — we are happy to play this game here in Bangkok for the many fans.”

Erik ten Hag has also raised several eyebrows when he confirmed Harry Maguire will remain as Manchester United captain for this season.

The Dutchman has been pleased with the England international’s leadership skills and confirmed that after a proper look at United’s current players, he agreed Harry Maguire is an established captain.
