Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was pleased with Tyrell Malacia’s performance against Fulham as a right-back.
Man United travelled to Craven Cottage without Diogo Dalot due to a suspension and Aaron Wan-Bissaka due to some reason.
Following Dalot’s suspension, having received his fifth yellow card in the Premier League against Aston Villa, a rare opportunity for Wan-Bissaka to make his first start under Erik ten Hag but sadly, the former Crystal Palace couldn’t make the travelling squad due to an injury.
Erik ten Hag had to start Tyrell Malacia at the right-back position against Fulham and Manchester United left it until the last minute of the additional time to snatch all three points following Alejandro Garnacho’s decent finish.
United won the tie 2-1 at Craven Cottage to cut the gap to the fourth position to three points with a game in hand and Ten Hag was pleased with the Dutch defender’s performance.
“Of course there are points if you are left-legged and play on that flank that it is more difficult, but he has found the balance well.”
Christian Eriksen opened the scoring in the first half from close-range but Daniel James scored the equaliser midway through the second half.
In the additional minutes, Alejandro Garnacho scored the match-winning goal after a brilliant team performance.
