Erik ten Hag makes Chelsea admission, Liverpool prediction, reveals Man Utd goal

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag still believes Chelsea will fightback to challenge for the Premier League top-four and says Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle United will also join in the Champions League spots race as well.

The Blues maybe be in the 10th position, ten points off 4th-placed Man United after 17 matches, Ten Hag still believes Chelsea, who have won one of their last five league matches, are capable of finding their way back to the top.

Liverpool succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at Brentford last time out and are seven points behind the Red Devils, but Ten Hag still believes Jurgen Klopp’s side will bounce back and fight for the top-four.

Tottenham are lacking consistency, Newcastle United still going strong and Manchester United are building their momentum to remain in the top-four, having won their last four league games on a bounce.

Although there’s still a chance to catch up with league leaders, Arsenal, Erik ten Hag admits Man United’s top priority is to finish in the top four and seals Champions League football, which he thinks isn’t an easy battle, given the number of clubs fighting for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions.

Manchester United’s priority is to play in the Champions League again

“I think we should be satisfied with where we are now given the bumps encountered in the early part of the season. We are not yet competitive with Manchester City – and I still see that club as a step too high at the moment,” Ten Hag said.

“I also expect Liverpool to be right back – and I see them, together with City, as the two teams to beat in England. Also, Arsenal are having a super season and are already far ahead in the league.

“We have to battle with Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs for the Champions League ticket, so the competition is huge. The club’s aim is to play in the Champions League again. That should always be our goal. If we achieve that, it will feel like our championship.”
