Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has joined the rest of his team-mates to rave about ‘top, top’ Erik ten Hag after being impressed by the Dutchman’s philosophy.
Man United in April announced Ten Hag as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent manager and the former Ajax manager is hoping to take the club back to the top.
Currently on the United tour in Thailand, Shaw has been impressed with his new boss, describing him as a ‘top, top’ manager.
The England international, who is expected to be Manchester United‘s first-choice left-back despite the signing of Tyrell Malacia, claims that Erik ten Hag wants the squad to play to his philosophy, to which Shaw confessed that the team hasn’t had that in a while.
“It’s clear that he’s a top, top manager,” Luke Shaw told Yahoo News about Erik ten Hag. “He has a structure to play the way he wants us to play. We haven’t had that for quite a while, and it was clear to see last season, which was extremely disappointing.
“We have to bounce back, and he has been working us extremely hard, but I think we need it. We’re really looking forward to this season because I know it’s going to be much better than the last one.”
Manchester United squad will try to implement what they have learned from Ten Hag so far when they face Liverpool on Tuesday afternoon in pre-season.
