Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has ruled out Anthony Martial from his squad that will face Leicester City on Thursday night in the Premier League.

Man United were forced to beat Southampton 1-0 last weekend without their no.9, Martial, due to an injury.

The forward, who had missed the opening two games due to a minor hamstring injury, featured against Liverpool as a second half substitute and also made his presence felt when he provided the assist for Marcus Rashford’s match-winning goal.

Martial did not return to training this week, as a result, he is set on missing his third game from possible five this season so far.

Erik ten Hag also confirmed that Victor Lindelof has returned to training but did not confirm whether he would be part of his travelling squad to the King Power Stadium.

Victor Lindelöf is training with the team. We will see today how far he is because he was out for three weeks. Anthony Martial is not available,” said Ten Hag.

Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to feature against Leicester City as his dream move to a Champions League club this summer is looking more unlikely.

Ten Hag said of the Portuguese star: “It is clear. We need quality players. You need more to cover all the games to keep the consistency going.”

Manchester United have won their last two Premier League games against Liverpool and Southampton and will look to make it three wins on the bounce against the Foxes.
