Erik ten Hag hints at change of Manchester United starting lineup vs Arsenal

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has suggested that he could make a change in his starting lineup against Arsenal.

Man United have won their last three Premier League matches against Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester City using the same starting lineup.

The Dutchman made a huge change to his lineup after his side started off their season with two embarrassing defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.

Among the changes he made, Ten Hag dropped the likes of Luke Shaw, Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire for Tyrell Malacia, Anthony Elanga and Lisandro Martinez respectively.

So far, this starting lineup has won their last three games and kept two clean sheets.

However, the former Ajax boss has suggested that Casemiro, who has made two second half appearances, could be in the starting lineup against the Gunners on Sunday.

When asked whether Casemiro is ready to be unleashed against Arsenal, he told Sky Sports: “I think so. He is used to playing big games.”

Cristiano Ronaldo performed well after coming on against Leicester City.

The Portuguese star has started in the bench in the last three games because Ten Hag feels the 37-year-old hasn’t fully adapted into his philosophy.

“He [Cristiano Ronaldo] showed it [his abilities] last year and not that long ago so now he needs to fit in our way of playing, if he does that, he will decide the games because of his capabilities,” Erik ten Hag said of Ronaldo.
