Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag was pleased with Alejandro Garnacho after the teenager’s top performance against Fulham in the Premier League.
Man United bounced back to winning ways in the league following a hard-earned 2-1 win over Fulham at the Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.
Christian Eriksen opened the scoring in the first half but his effort was cancelled out by Daniel James second half equaliser.
Alejandro Garnacho, who replaced Anthony Martial late in the game, scored the match-winning goal in the last minute of the additional time.
This happened days after he came off the bench and provided two assists that helped Manchester United stage a comfortable 4-2 win over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.
The Argentine is quickly becoming an important part of Erik ten Hag’s squad and the Dutchman had nothing but special words for the youngster.
Speaking after the win, Ten Hag said: “Alejandro Garnacho had a big impact in the win, he [finished] also, then the spotlight is on that and that is also justified because it was a great finish, because that is what you expect from subs coming in.
“I am really happy with his [Garnacho] progress. We have an extra player in the squad and I’m happy for the academy that we bring out the player, the coaches, really well done, good work, great.
“But also, I want to emphasise the way we scored that goal all the way from the back to the front, outplayed, composure and I think it was a massive brilliant assist from Christian Eriksen.”
Manchester United headed into the break with a win over Fulham. They remain in the 5th position with 26 points after 14 matches and are three points off the top-four with a game in hand.
