Erik ten Hag happy with Marcus Rashford performance 'again' after Chelsea draw

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag said he’s happy with the performance of Marcus Rashford against Chelsea, thanks to the energy he brings to the team.

Man United played out a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge after two late goals from Jorginho (pen) and Casemiro.

The Red Devils created the best chances of the game and could have killed the game off in the first half following three big chances missed by Marcus Rashford and Antony.

Rashford played 90 minutes, didn’t score or assist, but the energy he brings to the team was what Ten Hag was pleased with.

The England international was also brilliant against Tottenham, although he didn’t score or assist as Manchester United won the game 2-0 and the Dutchman was also pleased with Rashford’s display.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said: “I’m really happy with the energy that’s he [Marcus Rashford] is bringing in our team. I’m really happy with his performance again.”

Although Manchester United were the better side, most notably in the first half, Ten Hag was rather satisfied with the draw.

He was also pleased with the way United pressed Chelsea until the last minute and has urged his players to keep it up.

“I have to really compliment my team,” he told Sky Sports. “If you can deliver this [performance] after four games in 10 days, if you dictate the first half and second half [you are] well organised and fight back, I think that has to be the focus.

“To collect a point. It was well deserved. It is more important to have the right culture, the right standards and values. For long-term, it is always more important [than an equaliser].”
